Transitioning from Music to Mental Health: A Journey of Purpose and Passion
As I sit down to write this, my heart is filled with a mix of emotions — excitement, nostalgia, and a touch of sadness. For years, music has been my creative outlet, my sanctuary, and my voice. But now, as I embark on a new chapter of my life, I’ve made the decision to step away from producing music and pursue a career in behavioral health therapy.
This decision didn’t come lightly. Music has been woven into the fabric of my being for as long as I can remember. From the first time I picked up a piano to the countless hours spent in the studio perfecting my craft, music has been more than just a hobby — it’s been a passion that has shaped me in ways I never could have imagined.
So why walk away from something that has brought me so much joy? The truth is, my journey with music has led me to a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me. Through the highs and lows of creating music, I’ve come to realize that my true calling lies in helping others navigate their own journeys toward mental wellness.
As I transition from music to mental health, I’m excited to announce that I’ll be sharing my music project files with the community of artists who have supported me along the way. These files represent years of dedication, experimentation, and creativity, and it’s my hope that they will inspire others to continue pushing the boundaries of their own artistry.
In exchange for access to these files, I’m asking for donations on Venmo. Every contribution will go toward furthering my education and training as a behavioral health therapist, allowing me to better serve those in need.
But this isn’t just about me — it’s about the power of community and the importance of supporting one another in our respective journeys. Whether you’re a fellow artist looking for inspiration or someone who believes in the power of mental health advocacy, your support means the world to me.
As I embark on this new chapter, I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunities music has afforded me and excitement for the road ahead. I may be closing one door, but I’m opening another — one that leads to a future filled with purpose, passion, and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.
Thank you for joining me on this journey, and here’s to the next chapter.
Warm regards,
Dyan Bermeo
